Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday 10K/5K. Awards for the 5K and 10K will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age category & the top three teams in the Baby Buggy. Don’t forget to wear a costume for a chance to Win Prizes! The annual costume contest encourages runners and walkers of all ages to dress-up in costume. Costume prizes are awarded to the best male and female individual, 6-pack and centipede costumes. Additional prizes awarded to families and kids in costumes.
Redondo Beach Pier Festival of the Kite. This is one of southern California’s longest-running kite festivals at over 40 years! Always held on the 2nd Sunday in March in conjunction with Daylight Savings Time, this event draws thousands from all over the world coming together to fly kites on Redondo Beach. Prizes are awarded in various categories including highest flying kite and youngest at heart kite flyer. There is also live music, martial arts demos and a hot dog on a stick eating contest with cash prizes. Free fun for all ages.
King Harbor Earth Day Chalk Art Challenge. The King Harbor Association is a proud sponsor of the Earth Day Chalk Art Challenge. This all-ages event is free and open to the public. Participants of all levels are invited to create a chalk art drawing to commemorate Earth Day. The sea wall in Redondo Beach Marina serves as a canvas for artists of all ages and levels to create an Earth Day inspired chalk artwork.
The first 100 children to sign-up on the day of the event will receive free non-toxic chalk and a recycled and a reusable canvas tote bag that they can paint at the event. The Sea Lab mobile touch tank and Waterfront Education will be on site for visitors to learn about local sea life and waterfront activities.
Ruby’s Car Show. Join us @ 3 p.m. every Friday afternoon in the parking lot at Ruby’s Diner for a car lover’s paradise. Vintage Cadillacs, Buicks, Corvettes, and every car in between drive to Ruby’s “Cruise at the Beach.” With close to 250 cars showing up every week. People from across the South Bay come to show off their cars, or drool over something they wish was parked in their garage.
Family Movie Nights. King Harbor Association and Redondo Pier Association invite you to family-friendly movies every Friday at 7:30 p.m. throughout the month of May on the boardwalk between Redondo Beach Pier and Marina. All movies are rated PG and begin at dusk, so actual times may vary.
Beachlife Festival. Grab your friends and head to Redondo Beach from May 3rd through May 5th. We’ll be watching the sunset and our favorite bands play LIVE on the beach. Come honor the Southern California BeachLife with live music, great food, great drinks, great surfing, and everything beach.
4th of July Celebration & Fireworks. This family and kid friendly special event will feature first come, first serve seating throughout the Seaside Lagoon. All day fun for the kids includes swimming with family in the warm water Lagoon, inflatable slides, arts & crafts, party music from the Live DJ, and a special menu of food and beverages from Ruby’s.
Summer Concerts on the Redondo Pier. Join us for a live concert over the water and watch the incredible sunset from the end of the pier during the show. Concerts on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays will take place at the “Octagon” on the International Boardwalk (below Kincaid’s).
Redondo Beach Lobster Festival. This waterfront festival will serve fresh Maine lobster dinners, plus our very own Steak and Lobster Dinners featuring center-cut New York Strip steak and Maine Lobster Tail.
Rods, Rides & Relics Classic Car Show on the Redondo Pier. Offering some of the best-kept antique cars in the Southern California, over 100 show quality cars will be on display over the water on the Redondo Beach Pier.
Ruby’s Christmas Car Show. This free event features a gathering of vintage automobiles on display in the Ruby’s Diner parking lot from 4 to 8 pm. Enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their hot rods, street rods and muscle cars and strut their stuff. A favorite with local car enthusiasts, this popular event has grown tremendously over the years and features vintage and classic cars from all over Southern California. Take a stroll before or after dinner and marvel at this fine collection of classic automobiles.
King Harbor Holiday Lights. Featuring lights on the Marina boats and Harbor residence balconies. Year after year locals and visitors gather around waterfronts to admire the sight of vessels strung with lights and festive décor.
King Harbor Holiday Boat Parade. The King Harbor Yacht Club presents the annual King Harbor Holiday Boat Parade. A longtime favorite of locals and visitors to the area, this hugely popular South Bay event gets under way at 4:30 pm in the main channel of King Harbor. The Body Glove yacht Disappearance will lead off the parade.
Concert and Santa on the Redondo Pier. Greet Santa as he arrives at the end of the pier with his surfboard. Enjoy live holiday music and don’t forget to bring a new unwrapped toy valued at $5 or more for a local charity.
